Surefire way Caring Orchid

Black OrchidOrchid is a plant that already exists on the earth since 120 million years ago continue to evolve until now, although many ancient plants and animals become extinct. Life in all continents --except Antarctica-- the world is almost 35 thousand species of orchids. Many ways in which to care for orchids, but sometimes when the treatment is done wrong then we will be orchid ugly.

Here are tips on caring for orchids.

  1. Location, temperature and humidity: Orchids will grow well in the highlands (in the lowlands can live, but must meet the appropriate conditions), temperatures range from 15 to 35 degrees Celsius (optimum temperature 21 degrees Celsius) with good air circulation. Humidity ranged from 65 to 70%.
  2. Sunlight: Plant orchid’s abstinence direct sun, but still tolerant to the sun in the morning (between the hours of 7 to 9 am). Orchids can not grow thin sunlight, and long narrow leaves, on the other hand, if the excess sun leaves will turn yellow like fire. Orchids will grow well if hung in the shade of a tree.
  3. Watering: There is no precise standard for watering orchids. The practical way to know the plants are watered with the need to monitor the condition of the media using the earnings. Watering should be with the water sprayer and use free of chlorine and other chemical compounds. More young orchids need a lot of water, watering should be 1 day 1 times. For larger orchids, 2 days is quite adequate. Too much water will make vulnerable orchid fungus that causes leaves and root rot. Orchids should not be exposed to water because it will quickly fall out.
  4. Fertilizing: Orchids need to be cultivated to make diligent flowering. Tips for choosing the right fertilizer is to choose a liquid fertilizer (fertilizer leaves), NPK nutrient elements should be adapted to the age of plants (Young orchids need more N elements, while the orchid is ready flowering require more P elements). Fertilization is done once a week with a dose of 1 / 2 teaspoon to 1 liter of water. Spray the fertilizer solution with the sprayer on the leaves and roots. Fertilization can be done more often by reducing the dose.
  5. Planting media: The media is a good plant that does not quickly rotted, allowing the roots attached, porous (porous) for air circulation, can store nutrients, and not easy to be a source of disease. Kinds of media are ferns, moss, coconut fiber, charcoal, wood, broken bricks or tiles.
  6. Pot: To be selected pots or plastic pots of soil. Pot soil can store water, while plastic pots do not. Orchid also good planted in blocks of ferns and hung under trees. Periodic reporting should be done, for example 6 months to give more space on the roots of orchids.
